How can anyone call this
How can anyone call this legal? You can't just mint a coin and decide it's worth $1 trillion or more. Are the private holders of platinum going to have their platinum valued at that many dollars? No. Hence why it's not legal. It's still just money created out of thin air, and instead of being worthless paper, it's platinum that is still far from costing that much. It's backed by nothing. It's worse than just defaulting because the debt is a fraud, it's paying fraudulent debt with more fraudulent debt, it's devaluing the dollar, and it's just putting off just ripping off the band-aid and getting it over with.
This is a moronic idea from the likes of people like Paul Krugman who are way too legendary in their own minds and the minds of others.
