Hello Mr. Armstrong,
I noticed that you have responded to a fellow grassroots activist regarding sending a nomination towards Mark Willis for RNC Chair. Although I am not from Texas, I am involved in Missouri and we're in the process of getting Ed Martin + Lance or Cynthia (Elected State Committee) to hopefully give the nod towards his efforts. At the time being it is looking very promising, but I was taught to never count your eggs until they're in the basket.
According the 2012 RNC Bylaws, Mr. Willis would need 6 nominations from 3 separate States to be elected from the floor. Currently he has 4 of 6 with Maine and Nevada. I understand that you feel Mark should be contacting and reaching out directly to you and other State Committee for help and support, but I would just like to reiterate that this is a grassroots movement. This is the Republican party voters who have started this effort and are perpetuating it into action. There was a request sent to Ron Paul, Jim DeMint and Mark Willis to accept a role at running against Priebus and only Mark responded with a willingness to campaign.
We're holding no grandiose illusions that Mark will unseat Reince Priebus as RNC Chair, in fact, we believe he has done an outstanding job taking the Party from a situation of debt and an unmotivated voting base and turning it into something to resemble former self. What this campaign is about is the People being able to channel their refute about the new Rules that were passed at the RNC - Rule 12, 14 and 40 respectively. This was the biggest atrocity and consolidation of power to the top that a lot of grassroots, myself included, feel disenfranchise the grassroots voters. The very same people who call on the phones, knock on doors, donate to campaigns and get candidates elected.
Our hope is that there are more than a few Republicans that understand the grave implications of the those Rules set in place at the 2012 RNC and if there was a way for them to show their displeasure with it, without risking their political status, it would be by a vote for Mark Willis. If anything we're hoping that at the conclusion of the race, there will be enough political pressure on Priebus to reconsider the implementation of those Rules and, God willing, discard them.
Thank you for taking the time to read and have a great day.
President or not, the Revolution is happening and it grows at the local level.
You should be on the ballot for your local Republican Central Committee.
