Of tyrants and tyrannies

A tyrant demands absolute supremacy in as many ways as he thinks he can get away with! Every nation that suffers/ed under tyranny can always point to someone known to have usurped that power from the people because that kind of centralization of power is impossible under an oligarchy.

Any opinion that displeases the tyrant is deemed worthy of punishment, and only those who please him have a reasonable expectation of gain, ie. tenure.

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. - Frederick Douglass
