I disagree
When some people pay "no taxes" and "negative taxes" making any tax increase "impossible" is silly. How about 15% flat tax for everyone, or a 15% consumption tax? That's sure to raise taxes on some people. Hell Mitt Romney didn't even pay 15% flat. The idea is you "never" know what's going to happen, so it's best to avoid absolutes.
Compromise is not a bad thing if done right.
