I've pondered this question...

...and I was curious: it doesn't seem like people who were wise enough to get their families out of Germany while they could during Hitler's rise are looked down on by us as cowards. You know -- the whole Von Trapp family leaving for the US, etc. I often think as well about the Brits sending their children to live with others in the countryside during the air raids. Surely, some of these efforts would be considered prudence rather than mere cowardice?
