THERE IS NO DEBT DEFAULT

I don't know why the media and politicians keep propogating the idea that we're going to default. It's misleading at best, and a lie at worst. The debt service is a tiny percentage of incoming tax revenue. That gets paid first, and then they'd have to *GASP!* pass a budget that incorporates spending cuts. Holding the line on the debt ceiling does not force default, it forces prioritized limitations on spending.

The giant monster in the room is not the danger of debt default, but one of fiscal responsibility, which is apparently a whole lot scarier to politicians.

I was sick of all the ridiculous rhetoric the last time they shuffled this off without really dealing with it, and I'm sure we're going to hear all of it again.

BTW, if it keeps getting raised, it's not a ceiling, so quit calling it that.
