We still have autonomy on how to treat patients and they can only dictate what medications or tests they cover as a way of control over us. When that changes I will stop using insurances all together and go to barter system to accept whatever the poor patients can afford case by case. That will effectively get rid of third party payers altogether for good. It might all come to that sooner or later anyways if Medicare follows Medicaid and go broke completely.
