The Continental Association - The People boycotted the red coats

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Continental_Association

The Continental Association was a document signed by the Continental Congress recommending actions and local committees of Safety, Correspondence, Observation, etc. The local committees took it upon themselves to help enforce the ideals of "The Association" within their community.

They did the following:
- Forced resignations
- Requested public apology for misconduct
- Reinstated people who changed their ways into the community
- Boycotted government or corporations supported by government
- Purchased local and colonial goods

Results:
In 18 months trade with England went from 3 million pounds sterling to less than 300,000 pounds sterling. What followed was the signing of the Declaration, almost to the day, 18 months later.

Building a strategic idea with tactical applications, locally...as local as the neighborhood, may serve us better than any national campaign can do ever again!
