You've just answered my question.

If stricter gun laws do not work then why establish them in the first place if its not a productive solution to end gun violence?

what stricter gun laws means is for those who DO want to hurt people such as MS13, Bloods, Crips, etc. will have higher access to these guns while the public is disarmed. Now that is a dangerous outcome with these stricter laws.

A little gun control has a lot of unintended consequences.
