You think wrong, sorry.

"I think he would have been the first person to define himself as such."

Why would that be the case? You think he wants to stigmatize his message with a derogatory label like anarchy?

Paul is an anarchist because he holds dear the core principle of anarchy - non-aggression principle. He applies it to every question of governance, which is exactly what is required to be an anarchist. He is one regardless of personally employing the label or not.

It has nothing to do with fear or being disingenuous. It has everything to do with him wishing to popularize his views and not get mired in everyone's false preconception of what anarchy means. The moment he places that label on himself, he has discredited his movement and efforts.

As far as anything Paul has done, or what he is, being contradictory to anarchy - that's absurd. If all of your decisions/votes/explanations/political action/etc are derived from a principle from one school of thought, whether you want to admit it or not, you are properly and accurately described as a proponent of that school of thought.

Obama never calls himself a statist - does that mean he isn't one? He never says that he is a jingoist either, does that change anything? The answer is no.

"What do you say to people who advocate for self-government rather than a return to the Constitution?"

Ron Paul "Great... I think that's really what my goal is."
