I love that verse. Here is another one that sometimes gives an additional "why" to suffering:

2 Corinthians 1:4 KJV
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

He is our comfort! And we glory in our infirmities because the power of Christ will rest un us! We can help others thru that power and comfort. Wonderful thoughts!
