compressors will "float with the load"

they will pull more amps when the load is high.
all any of these machines do is to move heat from one place to another.
it is best just to allow them to maintain the proper temp, not try to reestablish it....
they pull the most current when starting and when under a load.
this is why you should not short cycle them.
ohm's law works pretty darn good on an inductive circuit.
