Comment: Wrong!

In reply to comment: Arbitrary vs. Natural Consequence (see in situ)

That's a bunch of human reasoning completely devoid of any scripture and flies it the face of clear biblical doctrine.

God's commandments are not a lofty goal we hope to attain. They are unreachable standards that leave us guilty and condemned before a holy God. Our only hope is in his mercy and love. Paul said in Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

See that! The commandments are there to show you your sinfulness. Not to set some bar for you to strive for. If you got into heaven by being good enough, then Christ died for nothing.

The truth is faith in Christ alone is the only hope we have. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Go do a word study on "hell". It is a literal place.

You belittle disobedience by calling it simple. Let's get God's mind on it.

I Samuel 22:15 Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
