Encouraging, but ...

... is it Constitutional? I thought only the US Congress could issue tender. Unless the "alternative currency" is gold and silver, or a barter system, don't see it as strictly Constitutional, no matter how much Congress itself has shirked this duty and pawned it off to a bank.
