Senior Centers

I actually joined a senior center with the idea of recruiting seniors to work on campaigns. I also think it's a great place to have an outreach table, and sign people up to vote (of course, I'd be signing them up as Libertarians, myself).

When I was a senior in high school in 1973, the state of California voted not to decriminalize marijuana, but the senior class did. That and the senior class' vote to end the death penalty were the only two initiatives that year (out of many) where the seniors did not vote the same way as their elders.

Now, soon, these people will be retiring, and perhaps end the drug war. Between senior centers and high schools and colleges, one can get lots of volunteers and reach many people with real issues they probably can't talk about at home!

What do you think?
