You don't like Rand, so you're trying to explain away Ron's support for Rand. Someone calls you on this and points out that it follows that Ron sold out the movement for "family values." You deny this, but it's exactly what you've said. The fact is, you cannot reconcile your hatred of Rand with your (alleged) love for Ron, since Ron supports Rand, so you take up this ridiculous contradictory position. No one with a functioning brain is buying it.
