Just to correct your post:

2 Peter 2:1 is not the writing of the Apostle Paul. It is the writing of the Apostle Peter. Also, while Augustine could not read Greek, I can. And the teaching of an eternal judgment is not antithetical to the teaching of the Bible, even Paul (or Peter). Please understand that is possible to hold to a loving God and a God who is just. These two things are reconcilable. What you have set up is a false dichotomy; that God cannot be both loving and just. So, I respectfully disagree with your post.
