So what is the libertarian philosophy on this?

On one hand, no one should be forced to pay a tip, on the other hand the establishment is usually quite clear on their gratuity rules for large parties. I think firing the waitress is a bit over the top, as it shows a lack of tolerance for something rather trivial. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise, waiting tables is not a very good job to begin with. I knew someone who worked at applebees and was fired for serving an underage/undercover cop helper a beer. People should just boycott applebees, I know I do.

Edit: and it goes without saying people should boycott this pastor's church. Just wanted to clarify that.
