No.. It was a split check. Meaning that different people in the group wanted to pay for their portion of the bill individually. This does not void the company policy that when there are 8 or more people at a table, a gratuity of 18% will be added to the bill. This policy is also stated on the bottom right hand corner of the menu. When this group of people sat down at the table and ordered food, they entered into an agreement with the restaurant to pay for their food and drinks by the prices stated in the menu, and to pay the 18% gratuity which is also stated in the menu.
What is unethical is that this woman did not honor a contract that she entered when she placed her order.
What is utterly pathetic is that you somehow find justification for this in biblical text.
