In reply to comment: excellent perspective (see in situ)

I learned it from Dad's actions.

He drives a hard bargain.
But he's good customer.
He brings his horticultural exploits
to the hospital.
He was waiting for his procedure
Mom and I were there sitting.
In comes the nurse to do her tasks
In his hospital gown
Dad asks, "Would you like to see my nuts."
He had brought a bag of heartnuts.
A kind of nut that is easy to grow
With a pleasant nutty flavor.
He explains what to do to make them grow,
Then offers her his stash.
Most people want to be kind.
Even if they forget how.
I found that I too, can make someones day.
The problem is remembering to do so.

Thanks Wayne, Peace.
