Apparently he needs someone to point out that there wasn't any meaningful difference between Romney and Obama. That's what I tell every person who shows bitterness over my support of RP. They usually won't concede, but it does seem to get them to think a little.
I finally found a local jewelry store that offered a fair price for some french francs I had to sell and during the transaction, the owner started talking politics. The guy said he was a republican, so I brought up Ron Paul. He screwed up his face and complained that RP talked too much and was always putting his foot in his mouth. Before I could say anything, the owners grandson (who works there) jumped to RP's defense saying that RP never put his foot in his mouth, but simply told it like it is. The grandson, who appeared to be in his early twenties, kept jumping in on my side regarding econ and foreign policy and grandpa seemed to be listening...it was clear the kid had done a good job of self-educating on those issues. I get a chuckle out of RP youth educating their elders. The best thing the liberty movement has going for it is the massive youth following -- they're energetic, outspoken, and they are the future, so it gives me hope.
Hopefully, you'll get another opportunity to talk to the girl's father. Or better yet, educate the girl about RP and the liberty movement so he'll have to hear her talk about it all the time, like the jeweler's grandson ;-)
