Hegel talked about this stuff 200 years ago.
G.W.F. Hegel: "The State is as God walking on Earth".
"The State is the Divine Idea as it exists on earth … We must therefore worship the State as the manifestation of the Divine on earth … The State is the march of God through the world … The State must be comprehended as an organism … To the complete State belongs, essentially, consciousness and thought. The State knows what it wills … The State … exists for its own sake … The State is the actually existing, realized moral life."
As former Constitution Party presidential candidate Michael Peroutka wisely observed, “The whole concept of New World Order is something else, it really says that the State is God.”
Me: Both government and organized religion function on guilt trips and thought crime. Examples: You did not pay all of your taxes, you enjoyed drinking that beer too much, you could have given more to the church, and "keeping up with the Jones'" is coveting. The government has purposefully removed God from our lives and has replaced God with itself. The government uses the same Biblical introspective technique of Jesus Himself.
when someone tries to make you do whatever they want you to. so they start making you feel bad about something.. so then you'll give in and do whatever they want.
an instance of unorthodox or controversial thinking, considered as a criminal offence or as socially unacceptable; origin: from George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four
Examples of Biblical guilt trips/thought crimes
You have heard that it was said by them of old time, You shall not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
