John Brown's body lies a-mouldering in the grave

His truth is marching on.

In 1859, abolitionist John Brown and his followers raided the U.S. Arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Va., in hopes of arming rebellious slaves and starting an insurrection to free others in bondage.

So "anti-government" was Brown, that he was convicted of treason and hanged.
