The proper response to being ordered to attack a country that did not attack us would have been to resign or to refuse unlawful orders. Some generals argued against the stupid and unlawful orders and were sacked. Others, more compliant, drank the Kool Aid and went to war, killed thousands in the attack, ousted Saddam, picked sides in the internal conflict, then cried 'unfair' when they came under fire from the other side.
"We were only helping them," they cried, as they leveled entire cities, refused to allow the men-folk to leave, then used long range snipers to shoot them down.
We lived through this era, folks! Or have we forgotten the order of events and our government/military's culpability in what happened? Has our most recent history already gone down the memory hole?
