Or does anyone else also understand "an associated force" to include the US government, and any proposed drone strike on American citizens as "an imminent threat of violent attack"?

Let's call a spade a spade here. If our government is working with Al Qaeda in Syria, US forces are indeed an associated force. Arbitrarily murdering US citizens without giving them their due process is indeed an act of terror.

So when can I expect the Justice Department to go shoot officials in the White House?
