The problem I have with storing things long term is I mainly eat paleo and alkalizing foods. So no grains, rice, bread, soy, nothing like that. Virtually all the stores online selling long-term storable food rely heavily on those things. The diet combo also means only a small amount of meat, eggs, nuts or milk, and I'm considering cutting out milk and cheese altogether. So it's mainly about fresh fruit and veggies, and some canning supposedly makes them acidifying. But freeze drying, waxing and dehydration might work good, so I'll be looking into those.
