My Dad is a lifetime NRA member and stubborn as a mule

That's not ridiculous at all. Believe me, my Dad wasn't very friendly to this Libertarian thing for a while. He would always say "you're what? A librarian??? Get a real job" lol
My Dad didn't like all the Mitt Romney anti gun videos I showed him at all. He still won't say Romney was bad even though I'm pretty sure I've convinced him.

I can see where you're coming from. Rand is being pushed on you and you don't like it. I understand that. I would honestly like to see a badass liberty Democrat come up. A liberal version of Ron Paul. Basically a pro-choice Ron Paul.

How cool would it be if we could have our own rigged election? A conservative Libertarian debating a Liberal Libertarian about abortion and how free the market should be and we're guaranteed to win. Why can't both parties be liberty parties? You seem to have an easier time talking to liberals, so maybe you could do big things in the Democratic Party representing liberty. It's just a thought, what do you think?

As for #3 that's a good point but I don't think Rand Paul could be another Bush or Obama. Seeing as Bush campaigned on no nation building and Obama campaigned on ending the wars and they both didn't even come close to either. I think Rand Paul should play the game while he's in it. Say anything to gain the mindless votes and get in there, then carry out Dad's agenda. It's fighting fire with fire, winning campaigns are lying campaigns. Maybe Rand's lying to neocons to do what they fear most just as W. did do us in 2000. That's a big maybe, but maybe...
