Why? Non-essential amino acid versus sucrose/fructose/glucose?

They are both basically converted 100% to metabolic fuel whatever names you call them.

Sugar triggers a surge of insulin and the sodium glutmates do not, but the glutamates introduce more sodium. I'm not sure what your reasoning is. I think the opposite (though I think high doses of either are potentially harmful and gross tasting.)
