While I agree with Dr. Paul's tweet wholeheartedly, people shouldn't turn this into an attack on snipers.
The fact is, a skilled sniper can sometimes become the target of an entire army - now try and tell me they're jackals. Look up Simo Hayha. He defended his homeland from a Communist invasion, getting over five hundred kills with his rifle. The Soviets started launching ARTILLERY STRIKES to kill this guy.
Bottom line, don't diss snipers as a whole because one of them fought for a bad cause. They're a particularly important aspect of guerilla warfare, and a talented one is capable of pinning down entire sections of armies and closing off several city blocks from enemy access. It's easy to accuse them of cowardice when you're reading the DP with an AR-15 by your side - but when it comes down to it, that same AR would be better employed by taking down an officer from 300 yards away than it would spraying like a madman hoping to escape the enemy's bullets. Don't confuse good tactics with cowardice.
