Immigration, World Poverty and Gumballs

Someone asked what to do about this? (1996 version updated 2010)

Roy Beck founded the organization that effectively helped stopped past pro-amnesty moves. He is not against immigration per se but wants a sensible solution vs. ill-conceived policies. Has grown from 50,000 since 2004 to over 1,000,000. You can choose to be an activist by signing up or just monitor what’s going on. Members use information and easy tools to contact legislators conveniently via fax and phone. Their goal is to “educate the public about the environmental, social, and economic impacts of immigration policy” (Wikipedia). They oppose the McCain/Schumer ‘Gang of 8’ plan, however E-verify via current voluntary system is supported. They fault the underlying problem largely to poor enforcement generally viewing recent amnesty plans as misguided promises vs. practical solutions; they feature a link on their site to petition against the Gang of 8’s plan which petition states, “The previous seven amnesties between 1986 and 2000 had no enforcement triggers and served only to entice 11 million new illegal immigrants who now demand their own amnesty.”
