Comment: Wrong thinking?

Wrong thinking?

"Let's say about $10 of the cost is attributed to some kind of state tax."

The cost is almost nothing so why would the price be anything?

If it is an involuntary tax (crime) then it is not a free market.

If I can grow something, because I want to do it, how much does it cost me to not do it?

So what is the price then?

I've read, but not tested myself, that hemp plants are very good for making composite materials, building materials, competitive against wood and metals, so the same old routine is at work here destroying competition so that the price is no longer forced down and the quality is no longer forced up.

If I do grow hemp, to make building material, food, medicine, or to get high, and I like doing that, why would I pay someone else to take my fun away?
