Insulin is absolutely a necessary hormone for life;

However, the amount of carbs consumed signals the body to produce insulin, which is the hormone that tells the body to store fat. The consumption of excessive carbs will cause storage of body fat and eventually hyperinsulinemia.

I actually remember reading that article a while back and being suprised that protien actually could stimulate an insulin response, which is the only reason I responded to your post.

I agree 100% that protein is not the problem. Even milk protein is not the problem... My point was just to say that some proteins can signal your body to store fat. Dairy protiens are one of them.

Incidentally, I would imagine that lactose and other dairy sugars would stimulate a greater insulin response. I'm not blaming dairy proteins, just simply stating something that I myself was suprised about.
