Don't believe the hype

You have no privacy with your cell phone. Tracking with cell towers and gps is done all the time. Even if you encrypt transmission of everything, it gets unencrypted at some point on your phone. Your phone has applications that can do literally anything without your permission. If you use Android, check out the permissions of "drm content". It can take pictures, record video, send sms/mms, read your browser history, make phone calls, read calendar events, and read your contacts. That application can't be turned off and can't be uninstalled. Unless you have complete control of the phone's operating system, you cannot do anything to ensure privacy. it doesn't matter what application you install.
