Today in many areas, it's the only option

Government is competing with small business.. here in my area, we have a recreation center that started with contributions, couldn't sustain, the city took it over, and to compete, put two health clubs out of business.. still couldn't sustain, so it's all part time work and the hours are lousy, so chances are, it will fail leaving the area with no health clubs.

A great paying job around here is roughly 25K.. our city manager, who puts businesses out of business makes $136K.

We don't have many government jobs.. they last about two years and the government moves the employees, trasnsfers them spomewhere else.

So.. I would say, YES, get that job, and do your best to enjoy your life. It beats depending on soup kitchens and homeless shelters.
