The conclusion of the China Study is that in the presence of a carcinogen, when greater than 20% of dietary protein comes from animal products, the incidence of cancer is 100%. When less than 5% of dietary protein, in the presence of a carcinogen, comes from animal products, the incidence of cancer is 0%. The correlation between level of animal protein in the diet and cancer, when carcinogens are present, came from a study in the Phillipines. The data to confirm that finding used the largest sampling of humans ever gathered for a study, from areas of China where diets were consistent, and populations immobile.
