Though not for "social appearances." I want to live my live as best I can before the proverbial shit hits the fan. I realize that in 10-20 years, things may be tough. I don't know for sure if there will be an economic collapse, or a WW3, in fact I'd like to believe they won't happen. But as far as the minority goes, I don't think we are... Among the people I know, all of them either don't know/care about politics, or know that politicians are completely full of bunk. None believe that the government needs to tax them out of their wits, or make drugs illegal, and every single person I know wants every war going on to end.
Unfortunately, what I think is happening is, what I call, the "John Mayer" syndrome. I'm not sure how many of you here have heard his song, "Waiting On the World to Change," but it is the perfect example of kids today. They're downright scared of doing something now, because of drones, corporations, etc. And they believe that "one day our generation is gonna rule the population, so we'll keep on waiting." When I get into college, I plan to be as active as I can in local politics, and hopefully make some positive changes. But I want to give kids hope, because the generation after mine will have a revolution-based mind, I know it. /endrant
