"I haven't been following the story extremely closely, but as far as I know he is only a suspect at this point. There seems to be enough evidence to arrest him, but nobody should be shooting (or drone bombing) him unless he is actively shooting at them. How do we know for certain that he really wrote that letter? Everyone deserves a trial and in America, people are supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The President, governors, etc. don't have absolute power or the right to play judge, jury, and executioner and hopefully that never changes, but a situation like this would be the perfect way to condition Americans into thinking that "precision" drone strikes on dangerous people on American soil is a good thing.
We already saw the collateral damage from the LAPD randomly shooting at a couple of latina women thinking it was Dorner. I can't imagine that there would be a scenario where others wouldn't get hurt killing him with a drone missile."
