No. They will do what they choose to do not because the angry mob didn't like their policy.

Yes. Any business goes for profits - that is the concept of a business. What kind of business doesn't want profits? Apple is renowned for being driven in business by wanting to make the best possible products to their opinion.

Yes they can refuse to reinstate it. It may be that they don't like the developers because they haven't followed the guidelines in the first place or because the developers have sought to create a controversy. Whatever the reason they won't do it because of the angry mob - they will do it when they freely choose. It may be never or tomorrow (if the guidelines are followed and the app is resubmitted for approval).

I could argue it was made to seem like it is was "government driven" by the developers in order to gain attention and a story.

Just sayin.
