Yeah I used to speed everywhere, because I felt the law hindered me in getting somewhere on what I deemed a timely fashion. When they changed it to 75 I've obeyed that law because I felt it was more reasonable.
I understand the slippery slope argument but in some instances, I think it does help a bit.. Like I said, if cops were forbidden from searching a car and their job depended on it, I think it would cause the amount of searches to drop.. Would it stop them all? No but I think they would dramatically drop if you made it a criminal offense for the cop to do so.
Less laws for people, more laws for government officials.. to a point.. We could use that cost/benefit mindset in this case. :)
