It's funny. We all talk about self defense, but we all gave that right up a very long time ago.
If someone attempts to steal from you, do you have the right to defend yourself with potentially lethal force?
If someone attempts to kidnap you, do you have the right to defend yourself with potentially lethal force?
If someone threatens to harm you (by wielding weapons at you), do you have the right to defend yourself from potentially lethal force?
I suspect, you may answer yes to those questions.
But not in our current society. Not if the person is wearing a badge.
