Black Slave Owners

I actually learned this in school.

Some freed slaves bought their family members out of slavery. You assume this if you go through records and see the same last names, or do research on genealogy.

Then there were the blacks that had plantations or small farms and did the same thing southern white land owners did. They bought slaves and used them for labor.
