Massie was intrduced as a "businessman comes to Washington

Massie was introduced as a businessman comes to Washington. There is a common misperception among people, both advocates and critics of the business community that

1) Government can somehow be run "like a business", with the advantages and efficiency of business management along with concern over the "public interest" that government supposedly does so well.

2) That businessmen, as a group, somehow reperesent free market capitalism better than people in other occupations or professions.

Neither is necessarily true, and both are often false.

As Adam Smith observed, "Businessmen rarely get together except in a conspiracy against the public good..." and Rothbard called the State, "a gang of thieves writ large..."

(A) Businessman getting together with government? You take it from there!
