I am glad that you have come to Christ

I want to point out 1 major thing though. (I read the first half of what you wrote and its late-I will finish later this morning.)

You may not realize it but you did come to God through Christ. Though you may think you were God's already you can only come to God through Christ.

Conisder John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

It may be that you felt you had an understanding of God from the Bible or a head knowledge, but you can only truly be accepted by God when you accept His Son and what He did for you on the cross.
