Unfortunately the 2008 and 2012 elections proved that America is not ready for a libertarian president. Most Americans still want their entitlements, even though they are all Ponzi schemes that will go bust anyway. More Americans than ever before work for government, and want to keep their cushy jobs and benefits. Most "conservatives" still believe that a foreign policy of forever finding new places to bomb is needed for our security. And the bottom line -- most Americans really don't want the Constitution to be upheld.
As for Rand Paul, while he's better than most of the senators he's still has a long way to go on foreign policy -- I like his dad a lot more.
