It's not about corporatizing farmland - when I hear that I hear someone that is against capitalism in my opinion. Personally I think his advice is solid, if you are in college you should study farming not I-banking. The problem is how to you use that knowledge and how do you live where you want to live and use that knowledge. To a 22 year old Iowa is less glamorous than NYC (on average). So being a realist that is something to think about. It's also hard for people to move from urban areas they have grown up in and where they have family to suburban farming areas. All of this stuff plays a roll.
In general I think his advice is solid, just tough to actually do.
