Your atheist friends can think it sounds ridiculous all they want. Singularities do exist. There's one at the center of our galaxy. They may think it sounds silly because it's beyond our ability right now to represent a singularity mathematically. All the equations break down to divisions by 0 or infinity.

All I can say man is, physics isn't an inside job. If you throw a ball, I could predict exactly where it will land.
