Comment: Brainwashing??? Hold on there...
Brainwashing??? Hold on there...
Let us approach this from a liberty perspective. First, these bears are being sold on a Christian ministry website. Does he have the liberty to sell the bears? Does he have the First amendment right to have Bible verses recorded on the soundtrack that the bears play? Do I have the freedom, as a Christian to go to a Christian website to purchase whatever I want, including the bears? Do I have the freedom to teach my own children whatever I see fit, including Bible verses? If I am raising my children in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord, day in and day out, they are not "unsuspecting" as you put it. This teddy bear would be saying nothing different than what they would hear every day.
Please be careful about using the term "brainwashing." You may not agree with my beliefs. You may not agree with how I raise my children. But to put it bluntly, that's none of your business. If you decide to raise your children on Christopher Hitchens and Penn Jillette, that is entirely up to you. How would you feel if I said that it was "brainwashing...your unsuspecting child" to do that? From a liberty perspective, you don't sound very tolerant of parents having the liberty to teach their own children.
