Actually, yes, I have talked to rabbis. No I'm not an expert.
Is the Talmud an intrinsic part of the Jewish faith or not?
Yes or no. That is my point.
Anything else you're reading into it too much. I'm atheist so I have no dog in this fight really. Other than to point out the hypocrisy in religion as a whole.
