but how do we separate the criminals from *their* group (whatever group they are in)?

Christian demagogues hide behind Christian innocents.

The same can be said for all the others: Bhuddists, Hindus, Jews, and Muslims--

As long as evil people hide behind the good ones with the same 'label'--

how do *you* get at the evil people--

I wish I knew. I know that collectivizing is WRONG, but even when I point that out I get told that I'm just scapegoating 'grouping'--

Until evil people stop hiding behind their 'tribe'--

this will happen.
