Yes get land and make it self sufficient. Don't buy in Colorado they are cracking down on gun control. Look at Idaho or Montana... There is a great permaculture movement in Montana check out permies.com . And if you buy land plan on moving now do not wait time is short. if you have been reading all the threads of DHS and Obama preparations for war on the people those who have bug outs should be bugging out ASAP.
If you must stay in Indianapolis till the day you bug out then get something at least two hours from where you live if you are in the city.
Start looking in the gardening homesteading forum for ideas on building cheap and being sustainable.
